A members' tennis club tucked above a car park along Tokyo's famous Meiji Jingu Gaien ginkgo avenue, with its indoor courts also open to non-members through court rental. It's a historic, established setup popular for lessons at every level, from beginners to advanced players, with coaching on site.

Courts & conditions

Eight indoor carpet courts sit above a multi-storey car park near the Meiji Jingu Gaien ginkgo avenue, run by the tennis club with priority given to members but open to the public for rental. Courts have spot air-conditioning (localized airflow rather than full climate control) and installed lighting for indoor play. Carpet can be slippery underfoot, so proper carpet-court or all-court shoes are recommended, and a white dress code applies for clothing and footwear.

Good to know

Book rental courts online via the club's member page up to two weeks ahead (updated daily at midnight), or reserve by phone; phone bookings are also used for changes and cancellations. Weekday morning and afternoon rental runs 6,600 JPY/hour, rising to 7,700–8,800 JPY on weekends and holidays. Changing rooms and showers are available - ask at the front desk.
