About
Four public outdoor courts in Seattle's Volunteer Park, with the two upper courts set along the park's main concourse next to the Seattle Asian Art Museum and Isamu Noguchi's "Black Sun" sculpture. It's a relaxed, park setting for casual and drop-in play, with the two lower courts lit for evening matches.
Courts & conditions
4 concrete outdoor courts plus a practice backboard/hitting wall. The two lower courts have lights for evening play (typically until around 10pm); the upper courts are unlit. Courts are older and show some wear, with players reporting occasional uneven bounces and sagging nets.
Good to know
Courts can be reserved online (ActiveNet account required) or by phone through the Amy Yee Tennis Center, with reservations required at least 24 hours ahead. When not booked, courts are open for walk-in play (first come, first served, 90-minute max). Adult court rental is $16/hour with a 1-hour minimum. Street parking around the park can be competitive, especially on weekends.
