About the venue

Tufnell Park Playing Fields is a big, laid-back green space in Islington with two outdoor hard courts tucked in among football pitches and cricket grounds. It's a no-frills, pay-and-play spot for a casual knock rather than a polished club — good for locals and families looking for an easy game close to home.

On court

Two outdoor hard (tarmac) courts, open to the elements as part of the wider playing fields.

Before you go

Courts are operated by Better (GLL) on behalf of Islington Council and can be booked online in advance; it's not confirmed whether walk-up play without a booking is possible. Junior off-peak rate starts at £5.55/hour, with adult and membership rates also published online. There are toilets on site, and reviewers mention a café across the street and a pub around the corner for after your game.
