A rooftop tennis school atop Seibu department store in Ikebukuro, prized above all for its unbeatable transit access right by Ikebukuro Station. It's a members' rental-court and lesson setup, drawing a mostly middle-aged and older crowd, with a handy 8th-floor café for a break between sessions.

Courts & conditions

Rooftop courts on the 9th floor of Seibu Ikebukuro, with four outdoor courts total (reviews describe three hard and one omni/artificial-turf). Rain can suspend play even after it clears if the surface hasn't dried. Night lessons are offered, so the courts are lit for evening play.

Good to know

Membership required to rent courts (entry fee valid 3 years; waived for age 65+); reservations must be made and paid at the 9F tennis front desk. Front-desk hours run 9:30–21:00 weekdays and 8:10–19:00 weekends (Sunday to 18:00). Rates include a ¥1,320 trial lesson, monthly class plans from ¥11,880, and member court rental at ¥5,500/hour for Court 1.
