About

A municipal outdoor tennis facility tucked inside the leafy Tetsugakudo Park in Nakano, run by the ward for nearly 90 years. With six open-air courts among the trees, it's a relaxed, community spot for a casual game rather than a polished private club.

Courts & conditions

Six outdoor sand-filled artificial-grass (omni) courts inside Tetsugakudo Park, renovated in 2023-24 with new turf and lighting. Courts are shaded by trees in the afternoon, and floodlights allow play into the evening (until around 21:00).

Good to know

Booking is through the facility reservation system, with open slots released monthly on the 24th; walk-in registration is also possible on site. A 600 yen (weekday) / 1,000 yen (weekend & holiday) fee applies per 2-hour court block, plus a 200 yen per 30-minute surcharge for night lighting. Parking is very limited (shared with the park and baseball ground), so walking, cycling, or public transit is recommended.
