About
Habikino Municipal Chayama Tennis Court sits beside Ojin-tenno-ryo, one of Japan's best-known ancient burial mounds, in a quiet corner of Osaka's Habikino City. Two outdoor sand-filled artificial-turf courts make this a relaxed, city-run spot for casual matches, and reviewers describe seeing plenty of local players out enjoying tennis here on weekends and holidays.
Courts & conditions
Both courts are sand-filled artificial turf and fully outdoors, opened in July 2016. One visitor review notes the ball speed feels a little slow on this surface, worth knowing if you're used to hard courts.
Good to know
Book online through Habikino City's sports facility reservation system. Rates are ¥1,040 per 2 hours for city-registered users and ¥2,080 for others. The court is closed on Wednesdays. Paid parking (11 spaces) is on site but fills up quickly — some visitors park nearby and walk in. There's a multipurpose restroom and an AED in the management building, but no changing room. Weekdays see heavy use from a nearby junior high school's club, so weekends and holidays tend to be easiest for visitors to get a court.
