Madrona Playground is a lively neighborhood park in Seattle, with two outdoor hard courts tucked alongside a basketball court, play area, and open lawn. It's a great spot for casual, community-style tennis close to the shops and restaurants of the Madrona neighborhood — just get there early on nice days, as there are only two courts.

Courts & conditions

Two outdoor hard courts with lights for evening play. The surface has been resurfaced and reviewers note it now plays much better than before, though some mention lingering dead spots and lighting that's decent but not top-tier. Fallen leaves can build up on court in autumn.

Good to know

Courts are open daily 6 a.m.–10 p.m. When not reserved, they're free for drop-in play on a first-come, first-served basis (90-minute limit). Reservations cost $16/hour via Seattle Parks; private lessons on-site run $25/hour, paid by the instructor. Street parking is available in the surrounding residential neighborhood.
