About
A leafy public park in the heart of Brooklyn, Fort Greene Park pairs six outdoor hard courts with tree-lined paths, historic monuments, and open lawns. It's a laid-back neighborhood spot for a casual match, popular with locals as much for a picnic or a walk as for tennis.
Courts & conditions
Six outdoor hard courts, first come first served. NYC Parks lists the courts open around 8:00am to dusk, while the local tennis association notes players can be out from before 7am to after 8pm, using an in-person signup sheet.
Good to know
You need a seasonal NYC Parks tennis permit or single-play tickets to play, and sign-up is in person at the courts (no online booking). Coaching lessons are offered. Note: the courts were undergoing a 2026 resurfacing project, so check ahead before visiting.
