A long-established membership tennis club in Denenchofu, Tokyo, set among trees with a wood deck and lounge for relaxing between sets. Best known for its clay courts, on-site coaching, showers and a snack bar serving light food and beer after play — a classic, old-school club atmosphere for members and their guests.

Courts & conditions

14 outdoor clay courts, prized for their soft, joint-friendly surface and kept in shape with post-rain rolling. Five courts (1, 5, 10, 11 and 14) are available for daytime play, with courts 1 and 5 lit for night tennis until 21:00.

Good to know

This is a membership club (joining fee ¥52,382, monthly dues ¥26,191); non-members may only play as a visitor accompanied by a member, with booking required by the day before. Contact the club directly or via its official site to arrange a visit.
