A large public tennis complex inside Koganei Park in western Tokyo, run by the metropolitan park authority. With sixteen courts on site, it's a solid option for casual games or group play, and out-of-Tokyo residents can register too.

Courts & conditions

Sixteen outdoor courts on sand-filled artificial turf, run by the Tokyo park sports authority. There are no floodlights, so play is limited to daylight hours.

Good to know

Courts are paid at ¥1,300 per hour and booked through the metropolitan park reservation lottery system, which opens on the 1st of the prior month through the 10th; those without a smartphone can register in person at the park sports counter with ID. Parking (two lots, 431 and 126 spaces) is available for a fee, and restrooms are on site, though note that showers and changing rooms have been reported out of service.
